Location: Chennai, India
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and execute detailed mechanical engineering designs for STP, ETP, RO, SWRO/BWRO Plants, Pumping Stations, and Water Infrastructure Projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in mechanical equipment, piping systems, pressure vessels, design calculations, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
What You'll Do
- Lead mechanical design engineering activities for water & wastewater treatment projects.
- Review project specifications, technical deliverables, and engineering drawings.
- Perform and review pressure drop calculations, pipe thickness calculations, hydraulic studies, pump head calculations, and material specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, electrical, and piping teams.
- Review P&IDs, layouts, GA drawings, isometrics, vessel/tank drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Support construction and commissioning by resolving technical design challenges.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, AWWA, ISO, and other engineering standards.
- Review vendor technical proposals, TBE documents, and manufacturing clearances.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8–20 years of experience in water treatment, desalination, or process industries.
- Expertise in Pumps, Blowers, Pressure Vessels, Valves, Piping Systems, RO Systems, and Treatment Equipment.
- Strong knowledge in metallic & non-metallic piping (SS, SDSS, CS, DI, GRP, HDPE, UPVC, CPVC).
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, PV Elite, Caesar II, and engineering standards.
- Experience handling projects from FEED to commissioning.
